5 Small Website Fixes That Make a Big Difference

A lot of brands think they need a full rebrand or a pricey web redesign to improve conversions. But more often than not?

They’re just five small tweaks away from a site that actually works.

Here’s what I look for when I audit a website — and what you can adjust today to make your brand feel clearer, stronger, and more trustworthy.

Why It Matters:

According to Stanford research, 75% of people judge a company’s credibility based on its website. And yet, so many brands pour energy into content and design… without realizing their site is leaking trust and clarity.

Let’s patch the holes — without burning it all down.

  1. Make Your CTA Obvious (and Everywhere)

If someone lands on your homepage, how quickly can they figure out what you want them to do?

A strong CTA (call-to-action) should:
    •    Be above the fold
    •    Use active language: Book now, Explore our rooms, Join the waitlist
    •    Repeat throughout the site, not just once

Proof it works: HubSpot found that multiple CTAs increase conversions by up to 121% compared to a single one buried at the bottom.

  1. Simplify Your Homepage Header

I see this one all the time: a homepage that opens with something like “Welcome to Our Website” or “Elevating Excellence Across Platforms.”

What does that even mean?

Instead:
    •    Get specific about who you serve and what you do
(“Luxury accommodations in the heart of Banff” or “Mindful movement for busy people”)
    •    Keep it to one sentence
    •    Use real, grounded language — not buzzwords

  1. Check Your Page Load Time

This one’s unsexy, but powerful: slow websites kill engagement.

According to Google, if your site takes longer than 3 seconds to load, over half of mobile visitors will bounce.

Quick fixes:
    •    Compress large images (especially full-width headers)
    •    Remove unused plugins or popups
    •    Use lightweight fonts and themes

  1. Use Your Own Voice (Not Template Speak)

Your audience wants to know you. Especially if your niche is in wellness, travel, and arts/culture — they’re buying into a feeling, a mission, an experience.

So instead of:

“Our team is committed to excellence in delivering high-quality experiences…”

Try:

“We’re here to help you feel more at home in your body.”

Real. Clear. Human.

  1. Check for Alignment Between Content & Design

This one’s a little subtle—but it matters.
    •    Is your content readable on mobile?
    •    Are your headlines hierarchical (H1 > H2 > H3)?
    •    Do your photos match the mood of your brand?
(i.e., not corporate stock images if you’re a soulful retreat space)

Make sure your story, tone, visuals, and layout all feel like they’re part of the same conversation.

Little Tweaks, Big Impact

You don’t have to start over. You just have to start intentionally.

These five changes can make your site feel more professional, more aligned, and more compelling — without hiring a full team or blowing your budget.

And if you want a second set of eyes on your site, that’s exactly what I do.

Let’s polish your presence together.
