In other news, I am so happy to be here in Australia. It’s always been my dream to live here but I was too scared to take the plunge and do it. I craved adventure down to the very depths of my soul but the thought of moving abroad and failing just terrified me. Thankfully I came to my senses and followed my dream!
Since moving to Brisbane, I found a job in my field (marketing and communications) and a place of our very own. Luckily, our studio apartment came fully furnished. Most apartments and houses in Australia don’t come with basic appliances like a fridge, a washing machine, and sometimes even a stove, so finding a fully furnished place was such a blessing.
We live in a quiet residential area just 15 minutes away from the central business district and another 15 minutes away from my work. We also live right across from a park that has the largest bat population I’ve ever seen, but that’s a blog post for another day. Let’s just say that there’s a lot of weird critters down under. Not even giant fox bats can scare me now!
